Default Brake pad experience

A question to NSX drivers out there.
I'm buying new rotors and pads for my vigor which has the same front pads as NSX and ITR, for this reason, my supplier wants to charge $50 for thermoquiet front pads.

I recognize this is fairly inexpensive, but he also wants twice the normal cost for rotors too.

So what kinds of brakes have you put in your cars and would recommend buying?
Thanks in advance

These cars (also some Legends) use the same size and shape front brake pads. There are a lot of aftermarket pads to choose from, and the stock pads vary in composition as well. For example, stock Legend pads are designed more so for quiet and lifespan, whereas the NSX and ITR pads are more performance oriented. And the stock pads vary in price from model to model.

There are many, many brake pads on the market, and the choice depends to a large extent on how you use your car. If you track or autocross your car (I do), you might want to use a more aggressive street-track brake pad, like the Hawk HP+ (which I use and I'm happy with; I've tried many different kinds of pads). If you're really serious about it, you might even want to use track-only pads, and swap your pads before and after your track events. (Track-only pads are generally not suitable for daily driving, because they tend to squeal and tend not to be all that effective until they're warmed up.) If your car is a daily driver and you drive sedately, the stock pads for your car might be a good choice, or you might even be satisfied with the generic brake pads you'll find at your neighborhood auto parts store (many of which are often not as good as the stock pads, in performance terms, but are often less expensive).

As for the rotors, they are not necessarily interchangeable between models. For example, IIRC, the front rotors on the NSX are 28 mm thick when new, and the ones on the ITR are 23 mm thick.

The "good" news is that pads and rotors are consumables, parts that wear out. So whatever you use, you can try one kind, so if it turns out you don't like them, you can try something else when they wear out (which they inevitably will).
