Things to change/replace while the head is removed?
Sometime in the near future Chris and I will be pulling the head, what do I need to replace, and what should I replace/change since the head will be removed?
And yes I'm going to be replacing the headgasket
Thank you for your time,
Austin

Big valve cover gasket $9.00...if it's off change it, it's very easy to do.

Yea I reuse the valve cover gasket all the time..never hard any problems.
I have also re-used head bolts..but its probably better to just get new ones...it would be a pain to ahv to redo it all over again if they stretch.

I will reuse headbolts ONLY if i have no new ones around and I NEED to get the
car running(ie a race is that day). and i'll never reuse more than once.
Reason why i replace the valve cover gasket is because I have had them
split on me after removing the cover a few times. Sucks when oil gets spit out
all over the engine bay.
must be all that crankcase pressure.....

I myself am a firm believer of stock head bolts.
I have seen the head lift with both arp and stock bolts under boost so........
