question for engine builders!!
Okay, 1 piston needs to be replaced in my b16.
The block has been bored 81.5 mm so my concern is can it be honed again.
I will be replacing the piston and ring for cylinder #4. I am concerned that once i hone the cylinders, since its been bored over that It will be too big and burn oil.
Should i just buy a bare block and do it all over again?

It really depends on damage to the cylinder, out of round, or deep scratches. If the cylinder just need a light hone,to de-glaze , you are ok, but if not just have that cyl. re-sleeved,approx. $80.-85.00.
I guess it depended on the damage. All the hone marks are there. The engine only had 4000 miles on the rebuild.
It does have some vertical scratches on the cylinder wall but not too deep. No boost for me. Been there, ran 12's.

If the parts didn't bounce around and scar the walls you might be OK, Curiously, what aftermarket pistons didn't have enough clerance, most I have seen have too much, or just big cams with the lobe centers to close?
