Is it possible?
Is it possible to ever mod a non ITR chassis and come out with a suitable race/track/autoX type car? I some times feel jipped that i dont have an R chassis and that its a waste of time trying. Are there any common things people are doing to non R chassis integras to stiffin things up aside from the basic strut brase etc. etc.? I have seen on team integra a few articles about that trunk bar and what not. I just really wanna stop feeling liek its a waste of time, can any one tell me what i can do. And if i hear something about frame locks i might spit, there not even out for DC2's and im not so sure i like the whole idea.
You can make an integra chassis to be a seriously awesome racecar. I think you are putting way to much stock in the chassis reinforcements on the ITR.
Is it not true that the realtime DC2-R's were actually modified Integra RS chassis? AFAIK, that's the truth.

No kiddin?.. hmm wow, thats really interesting, I'd like to hear more about it. Learn something new everyday I guess... Do you have anymore info or links about it by chance?
...sneaky, who's off to search for info.

I read that on here, by what I would call a reasonably reliable source. It's been a long time since I read about that - but I swear GK wrote something about it at one time or another.
C - who is off for lunch but will attempt to search upon returning....

I know that some of the RTR Integras were actually RS models, not sure if they all were.

step 1 - buy an RS integra
step 2 - put a cage in it.
there you go - now you have a car that is at least as stiff as an R, and probably lighter...
optional:
step 3 - put a K series in it
(now it's faster than an R...)

Don't let the elitists get you down
...
You can definitely make any DC2 or DC4 fast on the track.

Well, that's good enough for me.
That right there proves the point.
Chris - still looking for actual proof online somewhere.

I swear he posted something about this. It's been mentioned a few times in the past on h-t i know that much...</TD></TR></TABLE>
I have no information that would lead me to conclude that cars shipped to RTR and labelled as ITR were not really ITR.
I know that as of a couple of years ago, RTR could actually tell you which numbered ITR were theirs.
RTR probably did race Integra that were not ITR, but I don't think they ever tried to pass them off as ITR.
Here's the problem: In order to compete in FIA Group N and the several series that came out of those FIA-N rules (including the World Cup), the DC2 Integra Type R was produced. Why we'd go through the trouble of homologating the DC2 ITR and then racing fake ones, I dunno.
It's a strange world, though, and I know I don't know everything. Stranger things have happened. Perhaps they occasionally put ITR running gear on other Integra when a damaged car couldn't be replaced on time.

Of course it's possible.
Once you start doing the research into what you really want your car to turn into, you'll realise it doesn't take all that much money to have a rip-roaring fun track car.
There are all kinds of ways to stiffen the chassis and change the handling.
