Koni Shock Install (56K :burn:)
The brake line bracket does not have anything to do with the ride height...
I didnt put them on either :lazy:
Maybe you have something not seated right, I dont know....I would think one side should not be lower than the other.

^ if you're careful and don't think that friction will rupture your lines, you can use zip ties... or go to a junk yard and look for brackets.

are the bump stops necessary to have? just wondering cause like some, mine didn't come with any. if the answer is yes then i'll drill them from stock ones.
Sorry to bring back this thread. I was wondering if anyone has a write up on how to intall the Koni with ground control and extended top hats. This is what I did, but I'm not completely sure its right. Spring perch on koni, then white plastic piece, then the bumpstop, then washer, black plastic "spring seat", extended top hat, washer that looks like a cup, and two nuts. did anyone do it differently?
Top hats should include new washers. The GC top hats have flat washers. Not cupped. Doesn't matter really which washers you use though.
BTW: Only use the GC sleeves that sit directly on the Koni circlip. That is the tiny clip that sits in the machined groove on the shock body. Both GC AND Koni have expressed that the silver Koni spring cup should NOT be used with sleeves as it will NOT be loaded properly. This can pop the circlip out, which will send your car crashing to the ground. This happened more than a few times when people were installing Skunk sleeves on Koni shocks.
It is also extremely important you have Koni metal sleeve inside the top-hat between the two washers. This keeps everything locked together and properly spaced. If this sleeve isn't inside the top hat, the lock nuts on the top of the shock-rod could come loose as the washer next to them vibrates.
Here is my install on Civic shocks. Notice how the sleeves are small diameter sit right against he shock body.
