ITR Front End Conversion pointers or tips?
Hey CaptCorN:
Could you explain why you had to CUT this inside area here at the front of the inner finder/rad/headlight support area here:

Is this cut neccessary to allow fitment of the JDM headlights?
(the area in this pic just above the washer fluid bottle.)

Yes it is required for the fitment of the head lights.....I'll try and take a detailed picture from a different angle to show you what I mean. This cut is the ONLY cut you need to make. Some peopel suggest cutting off the headlight support....i found it unecessary, infact we put two welds on each of the headlight supports..to the jdm radiator support.
This is great. I actually feel like im contributing to the community. I was going to write up a step-by-step how-to but my pictures turned out like ****... so im a little dissapointed....maybe ill just compile a lot of pictures that people have submitted.

I see you opted to use half of the jdm rad support, and half usdm?? Im going to tackle my own JDM front end in a month, and just wondering, why did you chose to go at it like that??? Was it the fact that less spot welds were required to drill out, or what??? Again, im just trying to gather up all the info i can to do the install myself. I had it down on using the entire JDM rad support, but now this is maybe the 3rd person i have seen go half and half.
We actually didnt get the lower part of the radiator support.......soo what we did was...we didnt hack off the usdm headlight supports....we then welded the radiator support to the fender wall and the usdm headlight support...it worked really well everything is really stiff....we finished the install tonight....ill write up a recap of tonights work later....and ill also show pictures....any questions just ask away and ill try and answer them the best i can.

Alright... i took some pictures of why we had to cut out a small chunk of the inside fender wall engine bay thinger.....it shows where the headlight goes....
FINAL DAY WOOOHOOO... Today was an easy day. we spent maybe 1 1/2 hrs finishing up....adjusting the bumper and headlights so they fit nearly perfect (ours wasnt perfect because of the fact that the radiator support was bent quite a bit...but you dont notice it unless youre looking at it. We bent back the corners of the hood since they were bent when it was shipped, that will be fixed when the car is painted....so now....at the begining of the new year the car goes in to be painted....*gasps* kandy apple red woohoo...
