Header coating??
I just bought a Spoon header and want to get it treated so it doesn't have any discoloration after heating. Anyone know what to do, how to do this and about how much it will cost? Thanks.
No, this is something you can't do at your house. You would need an oven large enough to bake the header and burn off any junk inside of it, next blast the inside and outside surfaces, apply the ceramic/aluminum coating, bake it again and then put it in a polisher.

SMSP,
Oh, wow how simple!
j/k
Yellow, just send it out man. Why don't you want to send the header out? Jet-Hot may have a local place by you to do the header coating but if so they can only apply the 1300 degree (I believe that is the temp. rating) coating, which really isn't sufficient for a header on most sports cars.

I think they have 72 hour guaranteed turnaround. I talked to them about the header I had on my Si, and he said the same thing about the 1300 degree coating (the cool polished aluminum-looking one). He said our headers can see temps as high as 1400 degrees so don't expect it to last forever like the 2000 degree coating likely would. I'd probably get the 1300 degree coating anyway because it looks much better IMO.
