Draining Fuel
Hi All,
It's been a while since I've been here or actually driven the car. I'd like to drain the fuel.
I can try to siphon it. It's simple but I'm not sure how much of a pain in the butt it is. The other options I've seen is jumping the fuel pump relay and disconnecting the fuel supply hose.
1. Can you siphon from the tank?
2. Any idea where the fuel pump relay is?
Thanks
Jerold

If the tank is original, there is a drain bolt at the left rear corner. If not, you can pull the fuel pump assembly out and siphon fuel through the hole in the top of the tank. The fuel pump relay is half of the main relay. You didn't say what year and model chassis you have, so I cannot tell you where to find the main relay.
If you have a Hondata S300, you can activate the fuel pump using the "test" function: Disconnect the fuel feed line from the fuel rail and place the end of the hose into a suitable container. Then, energize the fuel pump. Run until the fuel flow is slowed significantly... trying to get every drop out may damage the fuel pump by overheating it.

It's a 2000 Integra Type R. It's 100% stock and low miles, so I want to mess with it as little as possible. i.e. I won't be pulling the back seat and potentially stinking up the inside with gas. Using the drain plug is an option. I need to do some logistics to make sure I have enough containers to hold it. I guess ~13 gal is the worst case.
I like the idea of using the fuel pump if possilbe. It's controlled and less messy
Not familiar with Hondata other than know it's a tuner thing, it is OBD-2 if that helps.
I did see some references to the Fuel Pump Main Relay in some diagrams. But I have no idea if they are correct and no wiring diagram.
