Do catch cans work?

Here's a pic of me emptying a catch can after a 20 minute race practice session. The viewing tube was almost full each time we checked it (after every session). So yes, it does work

That sure does sound like an excessive amount of oil (nearly 1 quart) to be collected in the oil catch can for a 20 minute track session!!! You may want to check your PCV valve and make sure that it is operating properly (ie. the valve is not stuck open).
