Difference between USDM Type Rs?
 
Whats the difference between the 97-98 white usdm type Rs? and the 00-01 usdm type rs? apart form their colour?

Just asking cos someone was saying that the 97-98 were faster than the 00-01????? http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emcrook.gif

No, they are not. There are some minor mechanical and cosmetic differences, but all USDM ITRs are basically the same. '97-'98 ITRs usually dyno 2-3 whp higher than the '00-'01, but the '00-'01 are usally .2-.3 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile. Go figure. http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emsmilep.gif

Actually the 00's and 01's dyno with higher numbers from what I've heard due to the little bit better intake cam on them.

I seem to remember that despite the slightly different '00-'01 intake cam, the '97-'98 dyno higher...

Doesn't matter either way since it is the same car.

Here we go again:
97- no rear wiper, ac optional, radio optional(?)

98- new frontend and rear bumper

00-01 - ti shift knob, faux cf interior

Thats weird how the intake cams r suppose to be improved and yet they still dyno less.....

They don't normally dyno less.....I don't know what he's read or seen, but if anything the 00+ dyno higher in the low to mid 160's as opposed to about 160 on the nose for the 97-98's. Again these are ballpark figures and vary by dyno, conditions, motor, etc. To not cause trouble we can just say they dyno the same and leave it at that http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emwink.gif
