Difference between Splash guards and Mud guards?

Default Difference between Splash guards and Mud guards?

Im lookin at the getting some OEM "mud flaps" but I see 2 different kinds listed: Mud Guards and Splash Guards. Anybody know the difference? and a few pics would be helpful.

In our system, We only carry Mudguards. P/N: 08P00-ST7-204. This is a discontinued part and is only offered by a third party distributor. Honda does not manufacture these mudguards any longer.

The splash shield(Splash Guard), is located right underneath the engine bay.
The P/N to that is: 74111-ST7-A02.

splashguard= up in the wheel well, keeps rocks and other **** from flying in the enegine bay

mud guard= lil flap that extends down toward the ground so as to keep rocks, mud, and other **** from flying up against the side of your car........
