Deisel compression gauge..
I'm a little obsessed with this compression stuff right now, sorry..
My compression seemed to go over my gauge, like I said in another thread yesterday (255+)
Can I use a deisel compression gauge that reaches 800 psi? I know some of you guys get over 255.. what gauge are you using? I want one that reaches atleast 300.. but I do not see one in the snap-on catalog that goes over 255.
This probably isn't ITR related, but I'm testing my R engine.. and I know some of you have high numbers.
EDIT: 255.. not 155

I don't think you can use a diesel compression gauge becuase all the compression gauges I have seen for gasoline engines uses the spark plug hole to measure the compression. With a deisel motor there is no Spark plug(some do have Glow plugs). Diesel motors use super high compression to create the nessary heat to ignite the air/fuel mixture. I don't think the diesel gauge will work for our gas powered motors. Also it doesn't matter about how high the compression numbers are. Aslong as the numbers are consistant with all the cyclinders you should be fine.

Yes, I know. But I cannot judge consistency if I can't see where it's going. I don't care about high numbers...
But the compression gauge for deisel is just a gauge, I couldn't use the adaptors. The snap-on one I'm looking at has the standard connection on the end (I forget the name of this).. so it should work on my spark plug adaptors I'm thinking..
