Default Comptech Icebox

Damn! $200 for the intake and $170 for the icebox itself on the comptech website! Anybody know where I can get it for cheaper?

It is just my opinion but from the dyno's I have seen the AEM out perfoms it for less money. That is another option.

I remember reading a post here a while back showing dyno results of the ice box vs. injen and aem. the icebox made more power in the midrange while the injen made more power up top. aem came in dead *** last. please correct me if i'm wrong.

You don't need the intake, just the Comptech filter ~$60 and the IceBox. Cheaper, but not cheap!

Wow, $370 is a lot for a damn intake setup. I mean ****, it's just air. I say go with just a drop in filter. Maybe down the road if you do other mods then get something to increase the air flow.

$235 is a lot better, for just the icebox and the filter. you don't need the $200 elbow...

I got good gains on my full setup (got parts of it used, so saved some money there...it is pricey). about 1 HP gain down low, same midrange, and a significant incrase up top (4-6 horsepower on VTEC cam, dynoed). It also fits much better than the AEM, and no water suck. Worth the money IMO. This is on an otherwise stock engine.

All you need is a new air cleaner, The comptech adds 2 hp through out the curve

Here is my recent dyno plot for the last time. The AEM has the 4k hump and the Icebox doesn't. The icebox was ahead across the board other than that hump! So what does that mean, neither offers a significant advantage over the other. Buy the one you want!

I've seen this dyno before. the owner didn't redline the car when he dynoed the AEM so don't compare the peak power.
