Check Engine Light Code 67, AGAIN, Need Help!
Okay, before I had a Carsound cat. the element came loose I threw a code 67, replaced the cat about two months ago all was fine.
This time driving in 90+ degree weather, and no rattling or anytihng wierd the MIL lights up, I check it, code 67 again!
I gave a quick look under the car, all looked well. The cat. is a brand new Carsound cat. I reset the ECU and am going for a drive now to test to see if it will come back on.
Any suggestions on troubleshooting procedure? Any ideas other than the cat. may be bad again??
Please help me

But it liked the mod for a whole year unitl the old cat. died and the element went loose.
I just find it out that all of a sudden the ECU wouldn't like the cat.
Will this affect performance at all?

I replaced my air filter/rotor/cap and the car "smells" better.... i need to see what the sniff #'s are to make sure that the modifications are what made the difference.

I have the same problem. First of all, did you check for any exhaust leaks after the header? Is your air/fuel ratio okay? Running excessively rich can damage the cat.
If everything is okay, then you can either use an O2 simulator, or convert to OBD1.
I've seen them advertised for as low as $25.
The O2 simulator just tells the ECU that your cat is functioning properly so you won't get CEL 67.

I had the same problem.. Installed a Car Sound cat arounf June of last year and 6 months later, threw a code 67... The weirdest thing is that I'll have that MIL on for like 3 weeks then just dissapear on any given day, until it come back again around 2 -3 days later. It comes on intermittently and the days I have ithe MIL on varies from like 3 weeks to months until it clears again... checked under the car and everything seems to be ok...don't really have to deal with that problem anymore when I went OBD1.
i doubt its the o2 sensor, more than likely its just the cat doesnt do as good of a job as the stock one.
, Its the cat converter chances are the material is melted again.
yep i've had this problem too and it seems to be acting up again!
got code 67 last week.
Nothing physically wrong with the cat but my R is running rich and i can't
figure out why. Its not pressure its pulse width.
Very frustrating.
You getting any other symptoms?
black plugs, black around exhaust? sputtering in cold when you start in a.m?
Where do you get this 02 simulator????
Very interested.

Everything else seems fine. I know originally awhile ago I was running way rich, but got V-AFC installed and had dyno tunning done and they clean it up a lot.
I will check the plugs today, and take a look under the car.
I reset the MIL using the reset prodecure and nothing yet after a full day of driving, so I will let you guys know.

Try this link for the O2 simulator.
onyx, let us know if your light comes back on even after tuning. Mine still came back on.

Anyone ever tried this emmulator?
how well does it work?
One more thing where does this thing wire in? not at the back of the computer under the kickplate on passenger side does it?
thats bad news to fool around in there let me tell you.
I've had nightmares with having to straighten out minute wiring issues back there.
its a dog to troubleshoot.

The person that built that O2 emulator is a local and I have met him...he's also a member of the board. It works and I'm know for a fact that there are quite a few people that are running around with it locally that are very happy with it.
Here are a couple of other items from him:
Innovator of the JRSC electronic boost controller
J&S audible alarm
Austin - have the J&S Audible alarm, and am quite happy with it.

Eeepers..
From the picture it looks like a box like hondata or a field vtec controller.
How would that fit in the spot for the o2?
How does it mount?
Does anyone have a better picture?

Thanks.
I ran with the code 67 for almost two years. I put on a 2 1/2 test pipe with my turbo setup and my ecu didnt like it.
Well until I get a Hondata, I am just going to have to deal with the check engine light. I really don't notice any performance differences that will make me want to reset the ecu everyday. But then again I was doing 10psi of boost and was not naturally aspirated.
Oh well... I got other problems to worry about like my blown #4. I can't wait for my block to come back from Golden Eagle...

P.S. - My motor lasted of 20,000 hard boosting miles. I personally think bad gas was the culprit because she was running strong for awhile. 205 compression across the board after 18,000 miles of turbo.
