i was wondering if u guys can help me out with my car..its kinda weird but i get check engine light while im driving ..the car bogs and sputters b4 the check engine light comes on. then when i shut off teh car the check engine light goes away. and it comes back on later on when im driving. i think its intake manifold sensor or the distributor .. so let me know what you guys think ? thanks in advance .

to reset codes, unplug car battery.

if you get no codes, check your distributor rotor, if it looks burned, replace it.

the trouble shooting code was 3 , it was the map sensor. i replaced it .. we'll see what will happend from here on .. thanks again you guys.

 

make sure to reset ecu to erase the code.. usually when i get cel light.. i check it, reset ecu.. and see if it comes back.. if it does.. i fix the problem and reset ecu again.

 

yeh , i reset the ecu .. then later on last night the cel came back on, im gonna see whats wrong now . im so pissed ...

 

I had the same problem once, and I took it to the dealer because it was covered under warranty. They fixed the problem and said it was the wiring to the map sensor not the map sensor itself. Did you by any chance take off your throttle body recently?

 

the motor is freshly built , so i guess yeh ... b/c we just put everything together .. the car made 200 whp w/ a full stock itr exhaust.. runs hella good then .. the check light comes on ..kinda pissing me off .. do you know how much they would charge to fix if its the wiring ?
