Update: I didn't have the plug jumped properly. Once properly jumped, I'm getting a code 71.... which I think is a random misfire cyl 1.

Is this something to worry about? Should I change plugs?

No series of long and short flashes like I was expecting.

Does this mean that the event or problem that caused the light is no longer present? Did the check engine light just reset when I jumped the pins in the harness?

if it happens again its time to start worrying - thanks for knowing how to pull codes and not asking what it was - pull your plugs and make sure theyre not filthy if you want

 

Code 71 probably isn't anything severe. Check your plug, the wire, the connection on the dizzy, and even make sure the injector is properly connected and secure.
