i have a 97 gsr all stock and earlier today i was in a street race at a red light and when i shifted from 1st to 2nd i noticed the front wheels did a *chirp* sound but only when i hit 2nd. Is this considered wheelspin??? Is it because of my tires or suspension or a combo of both? Has it ever happened to anybody else running all stock???

YES I KNOW i shouldnt be street racing but please no crap about racing, I rarely do it and only when on an empty street!!

 

you probably got back into the gas before you fully let go of the clutch which made your car rev up more and then you got it into 2nd gear.

yeah i know, cause that happens to me too.

idk if its bad though....

It's normal. And street racing is FTMFL.

 

yes i know street racing is just plain stupid, im 17yrs old and my pride just tends to get the best of me, but would suspension upgrades get rid of this.

 

It's called chirping and I do it all the time when I beat on the gizzer in first to second.

get some ACT 6 puck clutch andd you;ll be able to chirp from 1st to 4th..haha
