wheel balancing
if i switch tires...do i have to have my wheels re balanced?
|
Re: wheel balancing (b20integrapower)
Yes. The heavy spot won't be in the same spot and even then, the tire might have a different mass distribution all together. You need to rebalance when you put a different tire on a rim.

Re: wheel balancing (IN VTEC)
any time the bead is broken you'll need to rebalance the wheel.

Re: wheel balancing (B18B-SC)
its up to you then i guess.
ive balanced a wheel after breaking the bead without touching the weights or moving the tire, and it did not come 0/0. |

after you let the air out, you use a machine to push the sidewall away from the wheel and then you can take the tire off.... but you should rebalance if you take the take the tire off and put it on a different wheel...we marked the valvestem and the weights if we wanted to put the tire back on the same wheel.. |

I also agree that any time a tire is removed from a wheel, the wheel/tire will need to be rebalanced after re-mounting the tire or mounting a new tire.
