Default What type of engine do I have?

I have a 94 Integra Rs. The guy who had it before me had an engine swap. he claimed it was a b18a1 but someone scratched out the plate on the engine where is normally says what it is. Ive looked in a honda/acura manuel and im convinced it's a CR-V engine. My friend said to look at the front of the engine at the top of the header for numbers. All I got was; on the left it said
H M and on the right it said PR4-6. Is there any other way to find out what engine I have?

Heres a picture on my engine.

Wow dude.... Really ? 94-97 Teg with a K24 stock? Wat ****in world are you in homie? First of, 94-01 LS Integras would come with B18b1. K24's are out of the 2nd Gen (02-06) CR-V's, 1st Gen or 95-01 came with B20. Trust me bro, you would be able to tell if your Teg had a K24 swap. The easiest way to know is the fact that the headers come out of the back & the intake manifold is in the front (Unlike OBD0 thru OBD2 Honda engines which are facing the other way).
Chances are you got a B20, which is a torque master of an engine

Man,

It's a B18B. Judging by your valve cover.

yelnats has been issued an infraction for that asinine series of posts. that type of behavior is completely unacceptable here.

OP, when i used to build d-series (sohc engines), there was some data out there regarding the numbers on the head, in the casting, to help identify specific years for head. if there is nothing on the block there might be some info cast into the head to help ID at least the head, but i am not sure. i assume your concern is whether this is the original engine to that integra?

By lookin at the valve cover Its either B18b1 or a1. look at the head code, If it reads p-75 its an LS B18b1, but the problem with that is that B18b & B20 used the same head castings on 96 & up LS Non-Vtec DC's. But thats not a B20 valve cover (B20 valve covers are also identical to the valve covers for LS Integras newer than 96) So unless its a B20 with an LS valve cover its either b1 or a1

My concern was just identifying the correct engine I have. Would taking the valve cover off and taking a pic help?
