not needed unless you do extreme autocrossing. people will just think you're 'rice'n' your ride out by putting them on when you don't autocross/race.

they "look" cool (thats what there for).. not much downforce unless you are doing like 150 mph.. even then it ain't much. I think they are also for brake cooling in real racing applications.. but not on the teg..
those don't really look like front bumper splitters.
More like "canards".
Front bumper splitters usually cover the whole under part of your front bumper (used in race applications), so that when you're skidding over those curbs (you know those curbs) on the track, your bumper won't get fucked up because you have a whole sheet of metal under it.
They usually look like this, and attach to the bottom of the bumper:

They're also called "Undertrays" and "bumper protector".
Maybe I'm wrong, and those are the type of front bumper splitters that go on the corner edges of the bumper (without having a full tray).
They actually make some that don't utilize a full under tray, (maybe those are them right there).
Anyways, hope I helped you out.

Canards they are.
Designed to help aerodynamics by assisting the air around the sides of the bumper rather than the air smacking it head on. Thats how I understand it at least.

...uh yea, ur wrong. those are called spliters. where did you get bumper protectors from? i guess front lips are for the same purpose too huh?
jk. canards are the ones that go on the corner of the bumpers, by the corner lens. unless you have a really fast car, all of those are pointless
