What Engine Is Best
I have an automatic 94 acura integra and soon to be converted to a manual 2000 intregra. Im choosin on the engine that i want to put in the car... Should it be EX on boost, LS, or B16A... Give me ideas on what you think should be done to my conversion car... Statistics are good too
Why would i want to keep an auto matic tranny in my car... i plan on movin up... but engine wise im confused... and yes the conversion has to do with exterior and interior parts only
The engine i have now sucks.... it soon blow the mileage on it is extremly high... i want a new engine... period that y i asked for suggestions... so what about gsr mand type r aint nothing wrong with that to be dropped in my car

okay..but you can just put a manual trans on your current engine. then if you want, you can turbocharge that b18b1 engine currently in your car now and it will be cheaper in the long run and you'll have fun.
this is providing your engine now is in good shape.

you can rebuild the engine with quality parts and build it for turbo for a relatively low price. mileage means nothing on hondas if they are well taken care of.
gsr swap will run you approx 3 grand
type r near 4.
before you start buying things up, you have to figure out a few things.
how much money you have to spend..and always add in a few hundred for things that will go wrong (and things WILL go wrong)
what do you want out of your new setup? 13 second quarter mile times, 250 horsepower.
cheap, reliable, fast. pick two..you will not get the third.
to give you prices and numbers, here is a very reputable website where tons of members on here get their swaps:
http://hmotorsonline.com/shop/...gines
remember..whatever you choose..add in approx $500 more..just in case.

JDM sir-g (GSR) or find a cheap US GSR motor... it'll be fun to whip around in n/a... but will allow you room to grow! If you've got the dough, go type-r... If I read correctly, you have an automatic set up... it's going to cost you a good amount to go manual if that is the route you're looking to go... if you're looking for a new motor AND an auto-manual conversion, you may as well just look for a new car!
wow i hope u have some cah saved up cause a manual conversion isnt the easiest or cheapest job id think about just trading your car for a gsr then u get engine and the trans in one package less work and possibly cheaper

hahahaha.... definitely dont put any SOHC engine in... theres a reason honda/acura stopped doing that : )
at this point, I'd say new car... unless you've already dug into the auto-manual conversion... if it's not too far to turn back, do so

Sell it, and get a GS-R or LS 5 speed. If you are hell bent on doing the swap then go with either GS-R, or LS/Turbo.
If your goal is a sub 15 second 1/4 mile, you might want to look into a huge turbo and nitrous, in addition to chassis preparation, and drag slicks... oh wait, I ran sub 15's in a mostly stock (DC header equipped) GS-R.

I didnt quite understand that post?? sarcasm maybe?? I've seen 11's and 12's with a huge turbo and nitrous...
you said it yourself... you can hit 15 in a stock GSR if you know how to drive it...

first, i think you should read on your cars. cuz puttin any SOHC motor in your car is dumb. your better off just getting a solid B18b motor(factory LS), and build and boost it. best compression for turbo. and its a quick car as long as you can drive it, and have the right parts in it....

they were thinking probably more about fuel economy than performance/ power, they put it in a 4 door too, i bet that thing moved like a snail with a crutch haha

Wheres SHAMOO when you need him?
He explains things very well. If i were you i would get a b18c1 and turbo it. Its only a little more difficult to tune since you have to deal with vtec which is why many dont use it. Some say because of the compression ratio, which is false in my book. If you look at those 700+ hp motors, their running atleast 13:1 static comp ratio.
So start off with a great motor. B18c1 with gsr trans. Can be swapped in for less than 4500 w/ ecu. Then get a good turbo kit or piece one together urself. Surf the forced induction threads and u will find a lot of useful info there. You SHOULD be able to run a high 13 with gsr and turbo with about 7 lbs of boost. Good luck.

if not then i would go with a GSR, Type R or LSvtec, those are all good options
