i'm driving on the freeway today @ about 73 mph and my tach needle and speedometer needle do this weird stutter jump(check engine also flashes on real quick and off as soon as it jumps).it did this for about 4 minutes. i later got off my exit and the radio dimmed off a lil(but didn't shut off completely)and the music went out for about a sec and then went back on. does anybody have a clue to what is wrong with my car?oh yeah....in the mornings, my clock is all screwed up as well...

check all your battery and Alternator electrical connections.

no new mods...just changed oil(i went with mobil 1 synthetic)....

Thats all I can think of for now.. try that and get back to us. Dont just poke at them.. tighten them with a wrench and MAKE SURE!

same thing happened to me in my old civic. next day , alternator went out. replaced it and then everything was as normal and it never happend again.

Those symptoms sound just like my friend's '92 300ZX symptoms when his alternator went out. He had about 120k mi at the time. What kind of car do you have, and how many miles are on the alternator?

 

damn...i was thinking it was the alternator as well..
i have a 95 integra with about 105k
