Re: what is the best security device.. (Turbo95LS)
my friend taught me this just recently insead of putting the club on the steering wheel.. put your car in 3rd after you park and put the club on the shifter and hand break.. the club will keep the car in 3rd so no one can drive it nor will they be able to put the E brake down..

Than wouldnt work. You can just unscrew to shift ****. Plus the shifter can be easily bent.

this is true. there are tons of great security devices out there, but if thieves want it bad enough, they're going to get it. i've read so many stories of cars getting stolen here on h-t, even ones with alarms that were in garages. removable steering wheels and fuel pump killswitches sound like the best supplements to a good alarm. they are inconvenient but you can't really put a price on good security.

Agreed, IF someone wants it, they are going to get it no matter what kinda alarm or devices you have.

You just have to be careful and hope nothing happens. Try to park in secured parking and in visible light.

yup thats whats my friends do also they have quick release steeringwheels so they do this.. they say its because if they come with a tow truck that only hooks up the front your car would be pealing out all over... and even if they had a flatbed it might take some work to pull it up?

want to know the best security for a integra?.. Dont Own One.

Re: what is the best security device.. (Dc2 Powered)
best security is me sleeping in the car.. haha, garage would be best, or if we're at the mall or wherever, an autolock, kill switch, alarm would help. two autolocks would help too, one on clutch, n one of gas.. let see dem get thru all that..

get a 2 way alarm and a proximity sensor. Best way is to protect your car with numerous levels of security.

Re: what is the best security device.. (djfuzziebear)
I remember a LONG time ago I was in palm springs for vacation. We saw a lambo countache parked next to a meter and decided to take pix. As we got closer the lambos siren alerts us "please step away from the car" and it said something like I will trigger my alarm... so is that a proximitey alarm? who makes them.

I paid $350 for my lojack. I think they go upwards of $650 if you get one without a deal or anything. But really, they pay for themselves in under 2 years of insurance discount.
