Could you be more specific? "Getting on your car when it's still cold" Hmm....that doesn't sound different to me.

High pitched? Low pitched? Dependent on wheel speed? Dependent on engine speed? Does it all the time?

..high pitched.. (its hard to describe a noise)... kinda like a hissing noise of some sort.. depending on the engine rpm.. usually around 4-5, car def. feels more sluggish..

it might be that, cuz when i installed my amp's, it made that noise, but it was through the speakers.. kinda hard to notice where it was actually comming from, but i found out it was the speakers.

what about altanator? i know thats a shot in the dark, but i think i remember hearing someone talk about this in past thread's

It's probably an exhaust leak. Mine would make a real whiney noise (more noticeable while cold) up thru the RPM range. Found the leak and welded it shut. No more clangy whiney noise

Does the noise occur if you just rev? I'm thinking engine accessery.

PS pump, AC compressor, water pump, alternator

You said that there was a power loss associated with this noise. One of those components may have a worn bearing. Does the engine still rev freely?
