vtec and smoke?
ok just raced a friend in mini cooper type s and smoked him but i noticed when i got on it and vtec kicked in a s-load of smoked came out the xhaust and in his face but can any one tell me what the smoke is from or why t would be smoking i kno one of the reason is bad pistons but the pistons are new ?

sounds like a head gasket problem...

IDK about your problem because I would have to see it.. but all the Honda's Im around smoke a little when they hit vtec.. my gsr does it, my friends both have h22 preludes that smoke, and one is a 97 with 40K original miles... It shouldnt smoke very much though...

x2. its true.. if its whiteISH, it could be coolant OR oil. the oil tends to be whitish/blue. but if you're rolling out and looking out your rearview, it could be tough to tell just what color it is. could be valve seals or piston rings. chances are if you were running rich and blowing smoke it would be darker, like charcoal.
