Vtec Idea
Could I rig a simple switch to the green/yellow wire on the ecu to where if the switch was off the vtec couldn't kick in? There's a really long and complicated story behind this so no flaming allowed.
i'm not sure about which wire it is, but yea, all u would need to essentially do is send a 12v signal to the vtec solenoid. I kno someone who had that done to his crx that he did an lsvtec to, he was waitin on the ecu so he used that ghetto rig temporarily.

<i like this one... hehe..maybe sometimes, you wanna let it rev a little high but you dont wanna use too much gas..so you dont want the vtec to kick in...(?)
could be wanting to save on gas, maybe he races when appropriate, not on streets when anyone pulls up.
well with a VTEC motor, i may be wrong cuz im not a vtec guy but doesnt it not even come on until something like 5500 rpm? thats a pretty high rev so unless youre really getting on it hard youre not gonna be using the vtec anyway right
unless hes gonna be letting his kid drive it and doesnt want them beating the **** out of it...in that case just get an MSD and set the rev limit really really low

With all these noTec Honda/Acura owners spending hundreds or thousands to ADD Vtec to their rides...we'd all love to hear about why someone wants to disable it on their ride.

Yeah you can do that, you could also put a really restrictive exhaust on, say something like a 1" pipe from front to back!
