Default type r ecu

so i tryed the JDM type r ecu chipped to 9,000 it felt kinda iffy, the vtec sounded louder but i couldnt feel the pull, sounds weird but i could hear it but couldnt feel it, and t was idling at 200, it was about to turn off...can it be because it needs to settle or is it because of my set up?....i have a 98' gsr ctr pistons, dc 4-2-1 header, apex catback, coldair...then i tryed the jdm gsr, it felt better, i could feel the vtec better but oddly not better than my stock....should i keep mine and chip it?..

TUNING!!

this is the most important factor, if you are running a "blind" chip this is probably your problem

I would opt for a socketed p28 so you can tune and have a custom chip burned and your car wont run like doo doo anymore

Are you running the GsR intake manifold with the ITR ecu?

like he said... if u have your GSR manifold with operational butterflies then you are losing power. the ITR ECU doesnt activate it. get a skunk2 manifold and you'll be happy or other than that.. stick with the p72

you can also open the gsr manifold up and take the plate that has the butterflies and remove them
