Default Trunk Latch not working

Ok so my trunk latch actuator is not working. The motor is not spinning to release the trunk. I was wondering if the latch had a fuse to check. also the actuator is not broken because i already checked it. Just so you know the car is a 98 GSR.

Common occurrence.

Most of us just use the key to open the trunk, rather than actually fixing the issue.

There probably is a fuse, but I don't know which one is used.

I have the same issue. If I repeatedly unlock the hatch with the key while trying the latch it will eventually open. No idea what the cause is.

I know exactly how you feel about that.

I've ripped apart the actuator and was very disappointed in the design of it. Doesn't look like it can make any difference in unlocking the trunk...If you look at all the gears, you'd ponder how it opens when the pinion gear spins the spur gears and yet, they're both spinning freely against each other. Then again, the motor was worn out and didn't had enough power to rotate its own gear.

The solution...I was told that you can buy a new actuator and it fixes everything. I don't really believe it ever since I saw what was in the actuator. So, like every other cheap-o out there, I use the key.
