as i was on my way to pick up my brother from school i smashed on my gsr a bit but i noticed black smoke coming out of the exhaust. and today as i was speeding up on the freeway as soon as my rpms were right under 5000 the car bogged popped off gear and check engine light went on . now under first second and third gear if i go close to5k the engine continues to bogg. does anyone have any idea or has had a similar problem than this?

no im going to get that right now and see what it is im just trying to see if anyone got the same problem off the start

 

Check your oil level. Low oil will prevent the VTEC solenoid from engaging, which will throw a code and put you in limp mode.

 

just check code/codes and report back...

 

you my friend were right on the money it was a p1259 vtec code. it was just lacking oil but now just finished the oil change and its running perfect.

will do sir! but part 2 my exhaust broke off it looks like it was corroded and so i just took it off . the car sounds amazinng! is it safe to run it without a muffler at least till i can pick up another. i have new cats in the car and everything but iv been told it could damage the exaust valves even though i see a lot of cars running straight pipe. although this isnt a full straight pipe will i be in danger till i get a new muffler?

 

Just don't blow by any cops, you should be fine til you get it fixed.
