Default Top Speed?

Hey does anyone know what the official top speed is of our car's? Mainly talking about GSR's cuz thats what i have but im open to hear what anyone's hit. Dont post if your just going to flame somebody. You can't tell me if you had an open, straight,e ven road and noone around... you wouldn't get curious to see what your car is capable to top out at. Im curious to see what people have hit in there integra's.

Also list your mods so we can get a rough idea. But also does anyone know the 'official' top speed released by honda or somethin?

don't all cars in the U.S have governors which won't allow them to go more then 150mph...tha's what i thought anyways

but i know there's ways to go around that

you'll never really know the answer to this question because top speed is based on too many variables like transmission, modifications, whp, torque, etc, slope of the road, etc.

also, once in triple digits, your speedo tends to become unaccurate. the only real way is to measure with a calibrated instrument. i've had my stock gs-r buried @ 7500 rpms in 5th gear, with the speedo pointing to "premium unleaded only." was i going 150? probably not.

I don't believe all cars are governed at 150. Fastest I've hit in my LS was 135. Only mods are intake and exhaust.

Providing your clutch wasn't slipping and you were planted firmly to the road you were probably doing 150. Thats if you were on the stock size tires. Revolutions are revolutions. Allthough I don't think the factory tach is super accurate. So you were probably +- 1-3 mph.
I've had mine up to about 140-145. It doesn't handle like a vette so I don't think I'll be going that fast anymore. I could totally feel the understeer. I was on 205-40-17s with a 170mph rating and my suspension is pretty decent by my standards but obviously not good enough to do that. So I probably won't be doing that anytime soon in my teg on an open highway.

i probably wouldnt even get the chance to try it anyways, cuz i cant even drive down the damn street w/o the cop having his hawk eyes on me.. and plus they have camera's monitoring the high/freeway now..

and if you had 17's with 40/17's on them, and steelies (da) ?55?/14's on them, you wouldnt go the same speed?

When my car was completely stock, I had it at 142 (according to the speedo) right before I slowed down. This is a 99 ls, by the way.

i highly doubt i was going that quickly. everything was stock on the vehicle, the clutch was in perfect condition, and i've done it again with a tt supra who said i was traveling 138 according to his speedo. but then again, i'm not sure how accurate THAT speedo is either. all i know is, i won't be doing it again anytime soon, seeing that as i get older, the more chickenshit i become.

Well if you can get to your rev limit in 5th gear then that is as fast as you're going to go.Taller the tire than factory is going to affect to make you have a higher speed.I've hit the rev limit in mine(95' turbo Gsr) in 5th plenty while racing.But trans as well will affect speed.
type R=shortest gearing
gsr=medium gearing
ls=tallest gearing
I don't believe hp has anything to do with your topspeed with this car.I've had these cars for 6 1/2 yrs now.dont know everything but its easy to wind them out.

135 teg gsr i e h

127 4th gear 94 civic ex i e h
5th gear stopped at 120 mph with rpms to spare
4th gear redlined at 127 mph

i would never do either of those speeds again.
with my civic it felt as if going above 100 wouldnt even be that fast, i felt in total control driving pretty worryless.
after an almost fatal accident, i dont even want to go near 100mph.
