COLUMBUS, Ohio - An Upper Arlington High School student is in critical condition Monday at Riverside Hospital after being involved in a car crash, NBC 4's Teresa Garcia reported.

Stephen Millison left the school for lunch, lost control of his car and crashed into a light pole, police said.

Police are investigating whether Millison was speeding.

"I saw it and I felt like my heart dropped. I started crying. I called my parents. I was so worried," said one UA student.

"Everyone's been upset today," said another UA student.

The accident occurred on Northwest Boulevard.

"After this accident, I got on the PA to let (students) know about Stephen's accident," said UA High School Principal Kip Greenhill. "Also reminding them about being more cautious out there -- not only about the way they drive, but about the way they cross the street and their general behavior when they're outside the school."

Police said they are looking into witness statements that said Millison and another car were speeding or possibly racing.

No other students were hurt in the crash.

i guess he was speeding?? back in high school day..i always went out for lunch. and ya i was speeding all the time for few months..and now days..i dont even enjoy speeding..

 

Hope he gets better, but seems like he side sweeped or someone T boned him (and flipping over) pretty hard. If I understand correctly you can't really slam something that hard on a light pole unless you are racing.

At least no one else on the sidewalk gets hurt or killed.

 

i hope the dude is ok, but by the looks of it, i can't help but think he did this to himself. you have to be going pretty damn fast to wrap around a lightpole and flip over.

my friend wrapped his Focus around a tree with me in the passenger seat. my side was crunched in, but not as bad as the pic above. he was speeding around a curvy neigborhood street like a dumbass and lost control going roughly 65-70 mph..

slow down, people.

it most likely seems that he was speeding...and what high school student with an integra wouldnt speed (excluding girls) ? just my thoughts..

 

this makes me wonder, if i ever got into a crash or something like this, just because my car is modified its going to be automatically assumed that i was racing.

even fellow integra owners are making the assumption.

i'm not saying its not a possibility, but we dont know for sure either. I hope the kid recovers fully.

It all depends, look at the damage, and then look at the speed limit of the road it was on. I bet the two don't match up.

 

I just hope that he can be able to survive this....cuz it looks like nobody can survive that kind of a crash.My prayers and wishes go out to u man.

wow... sucks to see that happen to a high school kid. I work at a high school.. can't imagine if any of my students/players got into an accident like that...

Otherwise, I can't believe his taillights are still in good shape, think I can pluck 'em?
