Default Synchro's in 1st and Reverse?

I called up my local dealership and mentioned that since they replaced the master clutch cylinder that it was a bit more difficult to get the car into first, second and reverse.

I know many cars have issues getting into first and reverse, however, should it be tough to get into 2nd gear? This is irrespective of the temperature outside.

I have 2000 GS-R with 43,000 miles.

Reverse does not have a syncro.

It should have relatively no issues getting in and out of gears. Very low mileage too.

Does it get better if you pump the clutch? That would be if there's air in the lines.

1st & 2nd are on opposite sides of the same synchro hub. So maybe something messed up in common for those. Reverse doesn't have a synchro.

Reverse does not have a synchro but if the 5th gear/reverse gear slider gets banged up you will lose reverse gear.

many manual cars have some issues getting into first and reverse from a dead stop. happens every once and a while to me, and i just put it back in neutral, clutch out, and clutch back in....works every time. that or if reverse acts up, i just pop it in 4th quick and then to reverse.

True. The first/reverse issue generally happens when I'm at a stop.

Going into second occurs infrequently. However, it happens when I'm driving.

Worth a call to the dealership (still under warranty). Should I ask for them to address something specifically?

i used to have that issue....every once and a while if i was going into a turn and would try to shift into second, it just wouldn't go. i changed my tranny fluid to GM synchromesh and it hasn't happened ever since. when's the last time you changed the fluid?
