Stripped threads on Shocks!... need some help
I attemped to install my GC coilovers and KYB AGX's last night.I bought them used and one of the front shock threads that goes into the engine bay is stripped and wont let the nut bolt all the way down. What options do I have?
A. I could take the bolt off, and Re-thread it with a cheap die kit.I dont know the pitch on it.
B. Try and gte it to the good threads with a good air compressor.Which could mess it up even more.
C. Take the bolt off and use washers for a quick fix.
Also on the rear the head of the bolt for the LCA broke.Yes it Broke.
Can I just take a cut off disc and use it to cut off the U-shape of the rear shock to make the bolt fall out?I dont need to reuse the shocks anyways.
Ill post pics here in a second.

Heres the broken LCA bolt
Heres the stripped threads. You cant really see the threads but you get the idea.

And heres the good one that shows how far down its supposed to bolt down.

Also anyone know what your supposed to bolt your brake lines up to in the front? The stocks shocks had a bracket to bolt the brakelines up to the KYB's dont.

as far as the broken LCA bolt, its seized in the bushing of the shock, so either take a torch to the bushing or use a cutting wheel to get in there cut the rest of the bolt out...
as far as the stripped threading up top, just get the right die for it and re thread if possible

The rear LCA bolts are a typical honda problem....honda engineer's came up with the great idea of adding no grease to them during assembly. I suggest cutting the bolt/bushing out and either getting a new bushing pressed in, OR getting some aftermarket LCA's for the look. Thats what we do here all the time. Out of all the +'s honda has....this is one of the main -'s in my book.
