Default Sputtering Car. . .ugh.

ok. . so my car is sputtering. . it's not like a violent "shake the car" type of sputter. . but it's just noticeable. . .it's like i can feel it alot during acceleration. . also, when the car is stopped at a light or something. . the idle is so erratic that i have to stay on the gas just so it doesnt' stall. . . most of the time the sputtering takes place when I am at a moderatate amount of throttle. . it doesn't happen really when i have it at WOT. . . and usually it only happens between like 3000rpm and 5000rpm. . . ocassionally when it's at WOT, it'll drop out of vtec for a split second but then go back in. . . Any ideas???

I already changed the ignitor on my distributor. . check cap and rotor and it's all good.. changed wires. . . .changed plugs. . and even tried using another distributor. . . I was going to check my fuel filter, but I'm not really convinced that it is the problem. . . any more ideas guys??? Right now my car is sitting because it's just too much work to keep on at a stop light. . .

It could be something in your fuel system. You could try checking the fuel pump, pressure regulator, and maybe the filter if it's been a while. No CELs?

fuel pump i'll check. . i have an AEM FPR and AEM Fuel Rail and my Fuel Pressure is pretty regular at 42psi. . . and check engine lights. .it's ALWAYS on. . but from what i was told, it's because I dont' have a knock sensor. . PR3 ecu non-chipped. . .
