SPOON CAMS ARE BUILT FOR HIGH COMPRESSION ENGINES. THEY ARE ACTUALLy reground oem units. they grnd the bottoms down to increase lift and duration. the rules of the jgtc dictate that they use stock equipment from the original powerplant. these are one of the only cams you can get your hands on that have amore aggressive primary lobe on it than a stock gsr. just to let you know the stock itr primary lobe is smaller than the gsr so if you do bolt those on the engine(the itr cams) you will lose a lil low end. the only other company that i know of htat uses a higher lift and duration primary lobe than stock is Toda. either way you go, spoon or toda, you will be happy.
so by adding the spoon cams im not gonna get a crappy sound in ideal(1000rpm), cause my friend cause like some crazy cams, and it sounds like a freakin muscle car in ideal around 1000rpms
Whats not to love about the loping idle around 1000rpm thats intimidating and most muscle car guys look at a honda thats loping at a stoplight and get an idea in their head...lope

au-gsr have you seen the specs on the spoon cams these are mild cams made for compression around 11.0 -11.5 around there compression. tehse cams are a good cam for daily driving they arent as peaky as most cams which is why it doesnt have a lot of peak hp. many like it but it just doesnt make enough powaA. here ill give you guys a dyno sheet

just wondering but dosnt a type r redline at 9? or is it just me...it would make more sense to bring it all the way up and probably make more power? just wondering...also...could tuning be a part of the low horsepower problem...granted it is all motor? sorry if im wrong tho...

it looks as if the torque curve is dropping off like crazy after 7.5k, meaning that if they do raise the redline, it won't make any more power. Also, you can see the power falling off at 8k as well.

not really. While GSR cams are fine, there are some cams that will retain a good idle and increase power and torque all across the rev range. ITR and CTR cams will do this. I have 98 ITR cams in my gsr, and low end torque was increased noticably, not to mention a really hard pull up to redline. I will not comment on any other cams because I don't have any experience with them.
