speedometer problems please help
just a few min ago i was on my way home from class and my speedometer started acting up. as i went from a stop it would jump rapidly up and down at random MPH's and then start acting normal after 50mph, 5 min later down the road it starts doing it there too, and then 2 min later it just drops to 0 no matter how fast im going, every once in a while ill be at about 50 and it will jump around again and go back to 0. i threw a CEL light but shut the car off and saterded it and drove it and the CEL was gone but still had the problem. any one help?

i am not positive if its cable or not, i dont think it is, its a 92 teg rs, i cant really get under it and check, ive only looked from the top. and what do you mean you think its the tranny? where the cable goes in?
would you have any idea where my speedo cable would go in to the tranny? i dont have much time b4 work im want to try and fix this within the next hour. again 92 rs teg.
not yet but i cant do that at the moment i have to be off to work in 30 min, ill have to do that another time. but is there anything else i can check out that wont take oo much time?
also can i damage the cable or anything by driving it this way?

It does not take that long and is most likely going to be the cause of your problems. If you need instruction just e-mail me I have the instructions and locations for the cable.
