wonce i hit about 110 at about 4500 rpms its just stopes accelerating. am i just running out of power or is there a chip that is limiting me to that speed. if so how can i make it get over 110.

 

you probably do not need to be speeding like that on the highway anyway.

most likely it's your governor, which is located within the ECU programing.

That's your governor

 

is there a difference between the auto and manual governors then? cause mine limits at 140 in 5th (6000 rpm)

 

how bout you just slow down?
You can not tell me any logical reason as to why you'd need to go faster (on public roads at least)

 

Ive gone up to 120 on an open freeway @ 3am(no need to flame haters) and still kept accelerating but i was scared. lol

Why would we be haters? Because you did it in the dark, really late we should congratulate you? Cops don't care what time you speed and accidents/deaths happen at all hours of the day. Not trying to be a ***** but think about it...

 

i was racing someone in a controlled area so you dont need to worrie about it. how do i get rid of the govenor?

haha...i sure hope not...that musta been a long *** quarter

 

dude dont listen to these goslo poeple, more than likly thats all your cars got, either high milage, high altitude, or some other factor thats keepin it slow, when I got my 96ls man. it would only do about 128 and that was it unless i was on a mountain. Just keep on replacin parts till you see 165, then you'll be happy. Or just buy a 01 yamaha R1, and you'll see about 195, that's fun.

 

you do have a point and one day i will tell my kids that same thing, but for now nothing really stops me, i just got my license back from a year without, but that still didnt slow me down, i guess i'll either get my license taken away for good or just die. It doesnt really matter, we're only here for about 80 years or so, then we go elswhere. Now I'm not trying to be ***** either just stating my opinion.

 

your my boy thanx for the support and the advise insted of telling me to slow down i understand that some of you are just really against racing and my bad if i afended you but thats how i am. me and my friends have an area to race and its alot longer than a 1/4 i dont have alot of performance stuff so thats why its so slow but i dont plan to mod it anymore and i was just wondering if i could it to go faster than 110. thats all plain and simple.
