Default Skunk2 Shifter Install

Ok well I just was wondering if I can push/pull the shifter through the casing. It is detached from teh shift linkage and is swiviling freely in its case. The reason I ask is b/c the 2 bolts that hold the casing are being a bitch and I dont see any point in removing them b/c I still have to get the shifter out somehow.

Thanks

Ok well I finally got it off.

Only quick question that I have is this: Skunk2 gives you all these little spacers.

Where does the thick one go that is pictured?

it goes between the pivot and the shift link fork .. you'll see what i mean when you line up the pivot and the fork.
