it's a 1.8 if the engine code on the front of the block reads b18a.

yes 1.8 liter, the XSI had the B16 which is a 1.6 liter, but thats a japan only model. The (92-93) DA chassis GSR has a B17 which is a 1.7 liter VTEC motor, first car from honda to be equipped with VTEC. The B17 is a B16 block with a slightly longer stroke to acheive the extra .1 liter but they both have about the same output

if its the stock engine from a 91... its a b18a1 with 1834 cc of displacement, making 130 hp @ 6000 rpms and 121 lb./ft @ 5000 rpms. it has programmed fuel injection.

Hmmm didn't the '89 CRX Si's have a 1.6l VTEC...I guess you meant to say DOHC motor with VTEC.

And what about EF Si's...they had VTEC motors as well.

The first VTEC CIVIC/CRX's hit the market in 1988. The DA Integra did not get VTEC until '89..... JAPAN MODELS.
