simple remote control question
i have a 95 integra gsr, the people who had the car before me lost the remote. Can i buy any civic one off of ebay? Just the simple ones that have the lock, unlock, and panic? my friend said they are easy to program, i just want to make sure they will work. Ty
No, you can't. It will depend on what alarm system you are talking about. If they had a factory installed keyless entry (which was fairly rare in 95) you will probably need to talk to the dealer.
I would go to http://www.remotesunlimited.com or give them a call. They can send you a replacement remote for your car based on the FCC ID of your alarm. Try to find the brain (usually bolted to the firewall) of the alarm and see if there is a brand name or any other identifying info (i.e. model number, fcc id, etc).
Good luck! I just tried this with my car. The previous owner had a no name alarm with remote, but the remote didn't work. I tried to get a new one programmed 3 times, and all 3 failed. So I am just going to have to rip it out.

hey thanks for the help, there is a alarm system box under the driver seat and has a huge plug in. I will try and take some pictures and post them up, hopefully someone can give me some more information. Thanks
