Default shitty idel

i got a integra ls and when i start my car the idel is very high and stays very high for a maybe 3mins even when its really warm out..and once the car is warmed up and has been driving for a while the idel goes up to about 1500 rpms it stays there for a min and then drops down when car is stoped...any ideas???

It could be your car is trying to warm up? Mine idles at 1800 then slowly goes down to 750.

Did it just start doing so out of the blue one day?

It's possible the IACV is dirty and needs cleaning. I could clean that before diving in an adjusting the idle screw first.

he didn't ask you to talk ****

Have you put any mods on it recently? because i've noticed a difference in idle when i put an AEM CAI. But if you should definetly check out ur IACV just to make sure its fine like ScreaminTeg said - but if thats fine try finding a walkthrough on how to tune ur idle down - its really not hard at all

theres 2 ways to turbo the iead down
there a screw on the side of the tb
turn it right to turn the idea doen and turn it left to raise the idle

you can also use the screw that stops the butterflys.

Whenever my idle gets high I unplug the battery and leave it be for about an hour. Then connect it again and leave the car runnin for about 5 minutes. Idle goes down

IACV = Idle Air Control Valve

Think of it as an ECU controlled air leak. When the engine is cold and you start it, it allows more air to enter the engine. That's why it idle's higher on a cold start.
When you turn on an A/C compressor, it allows more air to enter to compensate for the extra load put on the engine.
