Default Setting ignition timing

Got a 1998 gsr with the b18c1 got the timing crank and gears all timed. but when I put a timing light on it the pointer points on the white mark not on the red. turned the dizzy and it wont correct it all the way.Yes it is on #1. I hooked up a jumper between the servicec check connector. Like the it says in the Haynes manual.

you rotated the dizzy through its entire range and it wont hit 16deg? How far did you turn it?

turned it through all its range. wont hit 16 at all. turn it towards the firewall and it dies.

what range are you getting? Double check the cam gears and crank are at TDC, sounds to me like something is out of wack.

Are you letting the car get to normal operating temp. and idling at the correct RPM?

correct didnt think about that, all accessories have to be off, car completely warmed up and idleing 800rpm or under.

what about the cam timing? will that have anything to do with it even being off alittle? i drove is dont know if that was a smart thing to do. it has alittle more power. are the little lines 90 degrees from the UP arrow supposed to line up? because my haynes manual says to set the UP arrow at 12 oclock. but when i do that the little lines dont line up at all?

I am almost positive your problem is your intake cam is not degreed right, causing the dizzy to go out of wack on the other end.

nothing was out of wack. kinda funny and stupid. i have a problem with getting antsy and put **** on the wrong way or not at all. I put the #2 plug wire on the #3 and the #3 on #2. switched it around and it runs PERFECT! One more thing tho. i bought a hi flow cat and the stock one has 2 o2 sensors on it. one before and one after. the hi flow has 2 before so i extended the wires from the after and made it a before. my air/fuel gauge is hooked to the ecu on the after o2 sensor. i want to hook it to the before cat o2 sensor before where it plugs in. which wire the white or the green do i hook it to?
