replacing radiator core support...?
ive got a 95 2door gsr that needs a new radiator core support..from the looks of it, it doesnt bolt on/off....so im assuming that it has to be cut out and a new one welded in place? anyone know one way or the other how to replace the support? and also, if anyone has had it done at a body shop, do you have an approximate cost? TIA
Yes, its welded on by three points. My labor guide gives it about 90.00 for the upper core support with 2 hrs labor time. about $225.00 Remember, this time is after bumper and all necessary bolted on parts are removed.
If you are needing the whole core support assembly done, your looking at 950.00 with parts & labor. Time includes R&I/R&R of the radiator, fan shroud, both headlamps, hood lock, support rod, coolant expansion tank, horn, power steering cooler, washer reservoir, AC condenser & lines, dehydrator and D&R of hood release cable and wiring as necessary.
Good luck

thanx for the reply...most the stuff is already and out (and smashed up, due to the accident) but the remainder ill pull out myself and just have the body shop weld the new support in, and hopefully be a fairly "easy" fix from there on...thanx again
