Replace stereo adapter with headphone jack
I was wondering if someone knows a guide so I can have it that instead of having a stereo there's a Stereo Jack to connect my mp3 player to and play music from that instead? Thanks!
An MP3 player could never provide adequate power to drive car speakers, or anything more than headphones really. No matter what you'd need an external amplifier, which is what a head unit with an external input is.
I'd say stop being an idiot and just wear headphones if all you want is the MP3 player, but that isn't legal to do while driving.
So, instead I'll say stop being an idiot and go buy an MP3 capable head unit and be done with it.

I say stop being an ***.
I was going to put my GPS in place of it and put it in. It's touch screen, plays music/videos... Better than a headunit to me >_>. I rather have that than a head unit, which is why i ask.

If it plays music through the car speakers, it is a head unit and contains an amplifier. You have a head unit, yet state you don't want one.
That is being an idiot. Stop it. No one like a moron, even a glutton for punishment like myself.
You come in here, ask a completely moronic question, then accuse people of being an ***. Great way to reach understanding.

Yeah dude, as TunerN00b said - you will need a head unit of some kind to provide enough amperage to drive your speakers. Hooking up your mp3 straight to your speaker will only provide a whisper.
I suppose you could figure a way to connect your mp3 straight to some amps, then have your speakers run off that. But that's alot of rewiring, especially if you're running a stock system.
Just get a headunit with a mp3 jack. Done.

w/e, I'll figure it out on my own. I'm just asking if someone has gone through something similar so they can point me towards what to get...

Either buy a cheap head unit with a mp3 jack or go through the laborous task of wiring up your mp3 player to external amps and powering your system from there.
What else do you want to hear?
