Remote start for Manuel
any remote start will work. u just have to send a ground to the clutch wire. not too hard.. i've done them a couple times. it would also be nice to make a neutral switch... but that's asking for a lot of labor. just make sure you don't leave it in gear when u turn her off cause when u turn her on.... boom. also.. most big shops won't install it. it's illegal. you'll have to go to a mom and pop shop.

The OP asked about units designed for manual transmision cars, not some potential Darwin Award machine.
Here is one model designed for a manual transmission.

and for your question the answer is u can get it anywhere. alot of auto parts stores sell them. but if u want remote start and alarm try finding a viper or crime stopper 2 way pager alarm system. i have the crime stopper 2 way alarm n it has features such as remote start, remote door locks of course, turbo timer, window roll down and up, and trunk release.

That is firm evidence as to why it is dangerous to install a remote starter that is only for an automatic transmission on a manual transmission car.

in response to what if someone else is driving your car. what you do is install a switch to make remote start not function, this way when some one else takes your car u flip the switch. no problems can happen.
If you do have remote start you need to becareful of really setting your e brake because I have a remote start and left it out of gear and the e brake failed (dont know why) and my car rolled down a hill ended up in a ditch. It was $1000 fix for which I am just now getting my car finished and it happened 2 months ago because insurance wouldnt cover it

It may be nice if you want your car to warm up when its freezing outside. Its better to jump into a warm car than a freezing cold one. Same for the summer if you want it cold on the inside. But i'm with you on the watse of time, i woulndt do it.

Its dangerous to install a remote starter on a manual transmission car period. Even those made for a manual transmission.
Manual transmission remote starter:
1. Before you turn off your engine, let it idle in neutral
2. Press the button on the remote to arm the remote start
3. Turn off motor and LEAVE GEAR LEVER IN NEUTRAL
4. Now you can remote start your car.
BUT, If while the car is parked and you forget and put the car in gear, it will remote start in gear.
So, its really no different from an automatic remote starter. If you leave it in neutral when your parked, it will work fine; but if its in gear.

leaving your car on the ebrake is the dumbest idea ever. good luck, please do post pictures when your ebrake gives out or cant hold the car back. it will happen.

Remote starters for a manual are quite different. Your sequence is a bit off. It should read more like this:
3) Set the emergency brake.
4) Press a button on the remote to initiate the remote start capability.
5) SHift car to neutral and remove the key and the engine keeps running.
6) Exit the car and shut the doors.
7) Press remote button.
8) Doors lock and then the engine shuts off in a few seconds like a turbo timer.
9) Remote start capability is disabled if a door is opened.
This method is still not fool-proof if the windows are left down or for a convertible where the shifter can be reached without opening a door. Regardless, a vandal could reach under your car and place it in gear, providing the remote starter with a nice surprise.
I am not a fan of remote starters on a manual period and would not own one. It is always amazing to me how naive people are.
