Random hole in my block...
Alright so long story short I got a Benson sleeved GSR block (block provided by Laskey) and have had a mysterious oil leak for the longest time. Well today I got to looking at my motor and it dawned on me that there is a random hole right under the dipstick tube. It doesn't look normal to me, so just wanna get some other opinions
Its the hole in which the arrow is pointing to. I believe its allowing oil to spit up out of it from the oil pan, but could be wrong. Maybe someone else with a GSR block can look at theirs to see if the same hole is there or not.

Well a poster on another forum took the time to post up some pics of other GSR blocks and they all have this hole apparently...I just find it random that there is a hole that leads to nowhere but the oil pan

hey man im new to honda-tech but just read your build thread, and ur db8 is inspiring me to clean up my db1 and see if some kid in my town will trade me, that thing is amazing
Haha thanks man! I am trying to get it back together by the end of Janurary but we'll see what happens. The biggest thing is to have it back together by March so I can get it on the dyno and ready for Import Faceoff in April. Post up in my build thread, I don't wanna clutter this one up, but have no problem chit chatting in the build thread haha.
I would change your oil pan gasket then, that hole is just over the flat part of the pan and gasket that mates to the block. I believe.
BTW, in the second pic of the other 3 blocks, looks to be a torque plate for boring, or is it something else that I have never seen? lol

Maybe I have just never paid much attention lol. I am going to chang my oil pan gasket though, I have the moroso pan and I don't like how the gasket sits on it
