Default Random hole in my block...

Alright so long story short I got a Benson sleeved GSR block (block provided by Laskey) and have had a mysterious oil leak for the longest time. Well today I got to looking at my motor and it dawned on me that there is a random hole right under the dipstick tube. It doesn't look normal to me, so just wanna get some other opinions

Its the hole in which the arrow is pointing to. I believe its allowing oil to spit up out of it from the oil pan, but could be wrong. Maybe someone else with a GSR block can look at theirs to see if the same hole is there or not.

Well a poster on another forum took the time to post up some pics of other GSR blocks and they all have this hole apparently...I just find it random that there is a hole that leads to nowhere but the oil pan

Haha thanks man! I am trying to get it back together by the end of Janurary but we'll see what happens. The biggest thing is to have it back together by March so I can get it on the dyno and ready for Import Faceoff in April. Post up in my build thread, I don't wanna clutter this one up, but have no problem chit chatting in the build thread haha.

I would change your oil pan gasket then, that hole is just over the flat part of the pan and gasket that mates to the block. I believe.

BTW, in the second pic of the other 3 blocks, looks to be a torque plate for boring, or is it something else that I have never seen? lol
