Default radio wont keep code

I've got a '96 GSR 5spd that I put an aftermarket radio in. I'm selling the car so I had BestBuy reinstall the factory radio. Not Bose but cassette and CD. The code is on the bottom of the ashtray and when I enter it in the radio it works fine,I can put in all the presets and it will play a CD, but the next time I turn the key on it wants the code again. All the presets are gone it just says "code" on the display.I've probably put the code in a dozen times. Anybody else ever run across this?
Thanks for any help.

your constant (direct to battery) wire and your switched wires might have been reversed. did they have the original connectors or were they cut when you had your aftermarket radio installed?

no wires cut. Just the original plug put back on the radio.

I agree with sleeper775. Your wires have been switched, or the plug has been modified. Take it back to best buy and have them check the power wires to deck. They should have checked this before letting the car go back to customer.

Honda/Acura wiring before plug on car side.
Power-Constant for memory- white w/ yellow or blue stripe
Power-Ignition - Yellow w/red stripe

Sleeper775 got me thinking about the switched versus constant current wires. I finally found a wiring diagram and the constant current wire has a separate fuse that's in the fuse/relay box under the hood, not with all the other fuses under the dash. Sure enough the fuse was blown. New fuse, everthing's happy.
Thanks for pointing me the right direction.

Good thinking. I didn't even think about a blown fuse.
