Default Quiet Exaust?

I have a friend looking for all of the following in an exaust: quiet, adds to performance, inexpensive, and not flashy. From frequenting the EG forums I know Apexi makes some that fit this criterion, but I don't know Integra stuff too well. If you can help with his exaust choice it'd be greatly appreciated. BTW - he has a '98 LS I believe (I know it's an LS, dunno exact year).

i'd go with an ITR exhaust, your friends gotta understand that from an exhaust, at most your only gonna gain 1-2 horsepower, so if what he wants is quiet and not flashy, got ITR. I love mine.

RSR is not QUIET. Yes it's quiet compare to the other brands but if you want one that will not attract cops becaue of sound/look, the RSR is not the one to get.

I had one before and it's not THAT QUIET.

i have one now and IT IS QUIET, not as stock but VERY close to it and the last thing it will do is attract cops.
i think the WS is a little bit louder from what i heard, but if you want the quietest with some power gains then go for the ITR. that IS stock. its up to you.

Tanabe Hyper Medalion, extreamly quiet yet still has a strait through design. I had the RM and was sick of the migranes, I love the Hyper, paint the can flat black and it's pretty stealth.

I would go with comptech. put it on my integra and sounds sweet, and is quiet as well. Mine is a little louder now because i have a comptech SS header as well, but the cat back exhaust is quiet!!!!!

The original RSRs are quiet, the RSRs that carry the skunk2 name are NOT quiet. Just clearing up the common misconception

Id go with the Comptech as well cause that is what I have on my car . Naw but its really quiet. You can hear at low RPMs and then at around 2500-3200 you can even hear it but after that it starts to get louder. Its really quiet, stealth, great fit, and stainless steel all the way!!!

What about the Thermal Stealth Exhaust? A buddy of mine has it on his Gsr, and we both love it. Definetly could take long trips with it, and you can still talk to each other in the car without raising your voice :D I must say its a great exhaust specially for only $400.

gentlemen, all straight through open end design mufflers are all the same. they dont restrict the air, therefore they are loud as ****. now when you add a resignator on it, that helps it quiet down. depending on the length you put on. or you can get a baffle that comes with some new mufflers to keep it quiet. still, no matter what you do, it will still have noise to it. so you get a chambered muffler like a type r muffler or your stock muffler. whatever works. replace the stock b pipe with a larger diameter mandrel bent b pipe. that will be as quiet as stock and you wont lose any hp. if you do lose hp, it will be like ....1111. so everyone out there talking about this one is quiet, no this one, you are all wrong. they are all loud as ****. they just have that little fat long thing known as the resignator after the cat. prices vary from these sorry as companies out there.

Not True, Tanabe Hyper is very quiet and is a strait through. Look at the size of the canister, bigger canister= more sound absorption material. I painted the can semi flat with high heat and it looks pretty stealthy.

Besides once you remove the bottle neck in the piping where it matches the cat it is 2.38 ID all the way back. This is a hair smaller than ID on a 2.5 OD U.S. made pipe.

Werd! I just installed mine last night, and I'm very pleased. It's slightly louder than stock, but no droning at 70mph, you do hear it a little at 90mph, but that is with the rear seats folded down and radio off. It doesn't have that annoying "rat-tat-tat" sound in upper RPMs. And it helps the exhaust breathe better, not to mention it is ceramic coated, mandrel bent, and not a huge tip on it.
