Default quick transmission question

for my 95 integra RS, i need to replace the transmission shell.

this guy claims he has a gsr transmission but don';t know the code.

I know all bseries trannys will bolt up, but im wondering if for my daily driver, would a gsr tranny be best suited for my engine or woul;d i be better off just getting an ls tranny?

keep in mind my ls tranny internals are fine its just my seating on the isb is scarred so bad it wont let the input shaft turn.

if i do get an ls tranny i can swap my internals or even keep em as spares as the synchros and everything are fine and mint, but then again if a gsr tranny is noticeably better should i just get that?

i can get the gsr tranny for 200 ( if it even is a gsr tranny)

also would i need to change any clutch lines or the fluid cylinder?

keep in mind theres a stage 3 6 puck clutch in the engine and 9 lbs flywheel

OMFG! buy it. in all honesty, and this is just my personal opinion, i would sooner upgrade my transmission than my engine. it makes such a difference.
as .long as it's a hydraulic b series, all parts will cross over.
while it's out though, you may want to swap your old ls 5th gear set into the gsr. it'll be perfect for highway driving.
do it, dude. you won't be sorry.....as long as it is indeed a gsr trans

Only way to be sure is to open the trans and count the teeth of the gears or if you spin the mainshaft from outside the tranny in third, you can count how many times you have to spin until your axle/differential makes a full rotation. But there is no definite way to tell if you have a ls/gsr tranny by simply looking at it.

here's some info. but unfortunately, it won't help much lol. as s80 trans pertain to almost all b series hydro under the sun. definitely a good call to count the number of turns in third. there must be a guide for that somewhere, as i'm sure people would get tired of opening the case everytime they need to find out what bloody tranny they've got
