Quick Speed Upgrades.. =)
hey everyone,
just wanted some opinions on a few things. 1st off, what headers do you think would be the best bet on a 95 RS. 2nd, what do you guys think about NOS?, good idea or no? havent heard to much about NOS.. is it save if you use it right or can it be dangerous by just having it in the car and only using minimal. also, anyone have it? resulsts? costs? any and all feed back is welcomed. thanks a bunch guys! ^_^

I have no clue about headers. Sorry!
But you should definitely go with NOS. It's a good idea, if you don't try to "boost" too much horsepower. With our cars (B18B engines), without any bottom-end build-up, go with the 40-60hp kit that NOS sells. It's a lot cheaper than getting a super- or turbo-charger. Not saying that those aren't good power-adders. Just my preference/opinion.
Cost-wise, it all depends. You could buy a used kit over the 'net, and that will range from $300-450. A new kit from NOS costs $500. But sometimes the used ones might include a bottle header or maybe some other accessories.
And it's not dangerous in the car (unless you're trying to breathe it...don't! they add in 100ppm sulphur dioxide to deter people from doing that
)

haha sweet!, only 500 for a new kit. wow thats not bad at all. Problem is finding someone to install it. any ideas?
ya i wouldent even mind going with a smaller nos kit maybe like 20-30hp. just to give the car that little extra power ya. ^_^ hehe ohh btw, my motor has 89,000 miles on it... would it still be save to throw nos in a car with such high milegae?
thanks again marmaladeboy

89k miles? That's not bad. I'd say that's pretty low for a Honda/Acura. Kinda like it's still a baby.
All engines are different, though. Your 89k miles could be 150k miles, depending on its condition. The safest bet is to get rods & pistons (Crower, JE, etc.). Of course, that's twice the cost of a NOS kit, but how much is your engine worth to ya?
Oh yeah, and switch to 1º colder plugs, too.

A 20-30 shot doesn't sound worth it IMO. If you're going to spray some juice, a 50-60 shot should be minimum. If you're unsure about the motor's condition, do a leakdown test. Actually, I highly suggest you do the test before you start spraying. Good luck.
